Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very well-known. Her mother raised her in the USA in a place where she endured numerous racial slurs that made her feel like an unwanted person. After entering a ninth-grade school audition where she received high praise for her singing, she started to build confidence. The experience not only increased her confidence, but it altered the direction she pursued in her professional career. The 22-year-old graduated with an education from the Julliard School in New York. When she turned 23 years old, she launched her professional career in Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, when she was 23 she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot, she played the role of Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. In the following year, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. She is a popular singer. she has also released both an album and a musical. She is also an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
